The Seabury Foundation recognizes that many of the issues, needs and challenges confronting people in our times arise from circumstances in which an individual lives.  In its work the Foundation generally strives to increase the opportunities for individuals to master, surmount or transform those circumstances, rather than engaging in efforts to promote large scale change, however urgent and valuable such change might be.  In addition, the Trustees prefer to focus on projects which benefit youth and families, on smaller organizations, on “grass roots” or community-based work, and on new and emerging ideas in their fields of interest.   While the Trustees recognize that general operating grants are much needed, at this time they prefer to focus on project-based grants.

The Trustees of The Seabury Foundation do not entertain grants in support of private schools, individuals, gala events, annual fundraising events, or annual fundraising drives.
